The Varia collection, as its title implies, preserves a variety of materials in the fundus that are important for the representation of all the segments of Rijeka’s history, redeemed or often donated, mostly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which will, in the future, sorted by existing museum collections. Most of the Varia collection was shown at the exhibition Trsat sanctuary in the collections of the Museum of the City of Rijeka, 2007, when the presentation of devotional subtleties (santine, prayer, crowns, votive gifts) was presented or in 2008 at the Advertising in Rijeka 1890-1940 when we from the collection from the Collection presented the period from 1890 to 1940, that is, the beginnings of advertising and advertising in the Rijeka area. Advertising ads by prominent retailers, hotels, authorized dealers or fashion houses, advertising hangers, painted packaging, paper bags with a manufacturer’s logo, packaging of well-known companies, personal use items, or legacy of individuals and businesses are all items that become witnesses of time if needed and presently present the topic. All listed and depicted material collected or used in the last four years in the Rijeka area is about the life of the town’s inhabitants at the turn of the century.
