Website accessibility statement

With the entry into force of the Law on Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia, and after accessibility testing, the City Museum of Rijeka will on this website publish a Statement on the accessibility of its website and applications related to services and projects, their compliance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102, and enable the provision of user feedback in order to further improve network accessibility.

In general

The website www.muzej-rijeka.hr strives to ensure the accessibility of its services for people with disabilities. Significant resources have been invested to simplify the use of the site in order to make it more accessible to people with disabilities, in the firm belief that every person has the right to a dignified, equal, comfortable and independent life.

The Museum of the City of Rijeka recognizes the importance of ensuring digital accessibility for all users, with special emphasis on easier access to public services and information for people with disabilities, applying, as far as possible, Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26th October 2016 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

The Museum of the City of Rijeka has been continuously improving the user experience by applying relevant accessibility standards according to the guidelines and standardization of network content (WCAG 2.1) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an organization that standardizes network technologies.

A One Click Accessibility plug-in is available on the website www.muzej-rijeka.hr, which enables the website www.muzej-rijeka.hr to improve compliance with the Guidelines for Ensuring Accessibility of Network Content (WCAG 2.1).

Accessibility statement

As a cultural institution, the City Museum of Rijeka strives to make its website accessible in accordance with the Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia Act (O.G. 17/19) of 23 September 2019, whereby Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies is transposed into national legislation.

Degree of compliance

The website www.muzej-rijeka.hr is harmonized with the Law on Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies. With the implementation of the new CMS platform and the redesign of websites, in 2019 most of the requirements of the European standard EN 301 549 V1.1.2 (2015-04) were met, yet with some exceptions.

Inaccessible content

The content listed below is inaccessible for the following reasons:

  • Accessibility of PDF documents for the visually impaired
    Some PDF files contained in posts are not entirely created from a source file from Microsoft Office Word by selecting accessibility options, but by scanning printed documents.

Raising the level of accessibility

The City Museum of Rijeka will implement corrective measures to solve the problem of inaccessible content of its network headquarters to the maximum extent possible.

Preparation of the Accessibility Statement

This Statement was prepared on 13th September 2020, in accordance with the Accessibility Statement Template in line with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies, and established by the EU Commission Implementing Decision 2018/1523 on 11th October, 2018.

The WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool and the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool were used to prepare this Statement.
